Where is your confidence?

We are a few weeks into another year, the year of Two Thousand and Seven. And as time continues to pass us by, as I grow older, and as my knowledge and understanding of the LORD grows, I am seeing more and more what is truly of value and what is not.

So, what is of the utmost value then? Well, if you are a Christian, Christ and eternity should be of the utmost value. If you are not a Christian, I pray that you would one day learn of Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior of all, and accept Him as He is.

Christian, once again, what is of the utmost value in your life? With all of the confusion going on around us, it is easy to lose focus of our Lord. At the present moment there is so much going on in the world(right off of the top of my head): the war in Iraq, the crisis in general in the Middle East, Radical Islam and its influence upon the world, threats of Nuclear war, various catastrophes from natural disasters, moral decay in our country, confusion in the realm of Christianity (the emergent church movement, charismania, contemplative prayer, the health and wealth gospel, purpose driven life, and blatant moral compromise.)

It is easy to focus too much upon the world and the various things going on around us. They can be overwhelming, and they can even cause us to have fear in our hearts. These things, however, do not need to be our focus ... at all. Jesus made it very clear that this world would one day pass away and all that is with it, but ... His words would never pass away.

Christian, according to our Lord's words, let each of us see Jesus (Hebews 2:9), let us consider Him (Hebrews 3:1), and let us always be looking unto Him (Hebrews 12:2), the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Because we can be...

"...confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you (us) will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:" Philippians 1:6

Remember, walking as a Christian in this world is not always easy, but we can have strength in knowing that our confidence is not in ourselves or in this world ... it is only in Him.

Jesus began a good work in you Christian; now be confident that he will perform it until His day, despite anything going on in our lives or around our lives.

Thanking Jesus for His faithfulness,
